These siblings were all excited to be receiving some fresh fruits and veggies through a food pantry in Stoughton. The United Methodist Church in Stoughton, Wisconsin wants to distribute fresh produce to its customers, most of whom are children.
While there is an abundance of fresh and locally sourced food in Dane County, it is often a logistical challenge to get that produce to families in a timely manner. From the farmer to the table, is a challenge that agencies and food pantries battle with from week to week. Luckily, the CAC, (Community Action Coalition of South Central Wisconsin) is taking up that challenge. But, they need drivers who are willing to pick up the produce from the CAC and deliver the fresh produce to the food pantries while the produce is at it's peak freshness.
If you have the time, the resources and the passion to help others, please contact Garrett Peterson at the Community Action Coalition. His email address is [email protected].
For more information about food pantries throughout Dane County, please feel free to contact Chris Brockel, Food and Garden Manager at the CAC. [email protected] or call Chris at 608/246-4730 ext. 206
